The Municipality of Punat is situated on the southern part of the island of Krk and it comprises two settlements: Punat and Stara Baška.

Punat used to be a seaside village known for fishing trade and wooden shipbuilding. Today, it is a desirable tourist destination, and it is especially desirable nautical tourism destination thanks to one of the oldest, biggest and best-equipped tourist marinas on the Adriatic coast. Olive cultivation and olive oil production is one of the most important trades of this region; well-known olive oil of Puntar Bay is a prize-winner in different state and international competitions.

Stara Baška is situated on the far south-western part of the island and it is one of the windiest parts of the island. It is well-known for its natural pebble beaches, clean sea, natural coves and untouched nature.
